A time and a purpose

I recently lost my Grandmother who was very near and dear to me. I would often think about when the day would come that she would be called home and how I would react. Would I shout out in tears? Would I be depressed? Would I know how to move on, or could I? These thoughts would often come to me because I love her so much and could not imagine life without her.

It was September 21, 2011 when I got the news that rocked me to the core, "Nana passed". I broke down into the arms of my Husband, but then there was a peace that came over me. It was a Wednesday when I got the news and home going arrangements were being made for that coming Saturday. As the days got closer for me to take that ride from NC to VA I was overcome by grief. All I could do was call on the name of Jesus. No long prayer, nothing deep, but just calling on the name of Jesus.

I remember going into my home office and closing the door and worshiping the Lord. I would sing songs that would come into my spirit and praised the Lord. A few minutes into my worship I sensed a peace. On the way up 95 North to Virginia I was in a place of praise and worship. I did not want to listen to anything else but songs that comforted me. I recall one song in particular, "Never would have made it" by Marvin Sapp and how that song now had a new meaning to me. I sang it from my spirit and it comforted me.

When I arrived to VA, my cousins and I arranged for all of us to go together to view my Grandmother at the funeral home. I remember becoming numb in my limbs as I opened the car door to proceed into the building. We all walked in single file, with me being last. When I entered into the room where my Grandmother laid I burst into tears. I watched as she laid there with her pink dress on, looking so beautiful. When I finally came to there was a slide show playing in the room with family pictures accompanied by Marvin Sapp's "Never would have made it" playing in the background. All of a sudden that peace came over me again and wrapped it's arm around me. It was a feeling that I could not explain. I knew then that the Lord was with me and that this was his will.

My Grandmother lived to see 87 years of age. She did not pass due to a terminal illness or tragedy, but because her assignment was completed and it was her time to return to the Lord.

If you have experienced the loss of a loved one, I pray for the peace and love of the Lord to be your comfort and strength. I can honestly say that I experienced and continue to experience that.

Jason Upton Sings with Angels - FLY

Reflecting

Today while cooking breakfast, I was listening to Jason Upton song Fly. The song is so annointed and prophetic spoken directly from God thru this vessel. There is a part in the song where it says, "Some of you have been fighting for a long time, some of you have been fighting for a very long time, God wants to take you higher......New Revelation" I was so moved by this song and as I worshipped it became so clear that God does not intend for us to fight. Jesus defeated satan and there is no warfare. We only fight the good fight of faith to continue to hold on and rest in what Jesus did for us at the cross. God wants to take us higher and give us new revelation, new perspective (as the song writer says). He wants to open our eyes to the possibilities. God has done new things and this is the season for us to walk in those new things. Just think if every believer where to seek God on their own and be consumed with his presence how much better our lives would be and the impact it would have on our world.

Seek God while he may still be found! His mercies are new everyday and he desires to take you higher.

About Me

Hello! My name is Tonia W. Scott. I am passionate about seeing those in the Kingdom of God living a life that is on PURPOSE. I work closely with those in ministry to assist them with bringing their God given vision to pass. I am a natural connector and enjoy being used at this capacity to help others fulfill their assignment.

Out of total obedience and pursuit of what God was doing in my life, I relocated to North Carolina (From Richmond, Virginia) November 2002. This journey has been filled with a lot of self- discovery, wrestling with God, disobedience, sacrifice, doubt, joy, peace, and fellowship. I say all of those things because without it I would not be the person that I am today.

I am married to a Awesome Man of God, M. Ceno Scott. We met in November 2006 and were married on April 5, 2008.

I look forward to meeting and connecting with you as we learn and grow together in Christ. I want to provide you with resources, insight, and connections that will help you to grow in Christ and the work that he has purposed you to do.

In His Service,

Tonia

Matthew 7:13-14 (KJV) (13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The other morning while in prayer this scripture dropped in my spirit. It was an eye opener for me. I read it over and over and meditated on it. It was revealed to me that there will be alot of people (even Holy Ghost filled, Fire Baptized, Tongue Speaking Believers) that will be in the number on the road that leads to destruction......Whoa!!! That sunk in so DEEP. The scripture clearly states that the way to life is "Narrow" and a FEW will find it. Think about it.... a FEW? I am very intrigued by words so I looked up the definition of Few and it read: "A small number or small elite group". The key here is that this is not only to those that are in the "world" as we will say, but to the believers who have spend countless hours and time in Church and those that are doing the work of the Lord. Matthew 7:22-23 states this very clearly. It is not enough to be saved. Your works will not get you in. We must examine ourselves daily and make sure that our heart is clean and that we have the heart of Christ.

My prayer for you on today is that you will know Jesus in a way like you have never known him before and that you will begin to thirst for all Truth and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you.

Love,

Tonia

December 7, 2009

It has been awhile since I last made an entry. I had to take some time to get refocused and to hear from the Holy Spirit as to what I should be concentrating on in this season. I have been reading and studying a few topics lately that I will begin to start blogging about in the weeks to come. In particular I have been reading about the New Testament Church, Health and Wellness and Soul/Spirit. All of these teachings and revelations from the Holy Spirit have been eye opening and life changing. My desire is to educate those in the Body of Christ (as well as myself) of the things that are based in Truth and the uncompromised Word of God.

Love,
Tonia
